If you are age 60 or over, SeniorAge offers several programs to help you file taxes and get money back into your pocket.
Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE)
SeniorAge offers a FREE Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program which provides tax filing help to individuals who are age 60 or older. Tax return preparation assistance is provided to elderly taxpayers by trained volunteers during the normal period for filing Federal income tax returns, which is from January 1 to April 15 each year. However, the program activities required to make sure elderly taxpayers receive efficient and quality tax assistance can be conducted year-round.
The TCE program is offered thru a Cooperative grant agreement between IRS and eligible organizations to provide tax assistance to elderly taxpayers. The funds provided by the IRS are used by organizations to reimburse volunteers for their out-of-pocket expenses; including transportation, meals and other expenses incurred by them in providing tax counseling assistance at locations convenient to the taxpayers.

Volunteer Opportunities
Do You Have a Passion for Helping Seniors? Become a volunteer Tax Counselor for the Tax Counseling for the Elderly (TCE) program thru SeniorAge. TCE volunteers help seniors and/or low-income families electronically file their Federal income tax forms as well as Missouri Property Tax Credit rebates.
You don’t have to be a math genius to help.
We provide the training and the software to help you help them! Training for those who are “New to Taxes” is held in December of each year. In January, training is held in Springfield for all tax volunteers – those new to taxes and returning volunteers.
